Vista Trip


These photographs were taken in Vista, California during the week of 23 February 2004. They run the gamut from cacti and succulents, fat and not-so-fat. In other words, they were attractive!

  • Agave patonii v. minima 'variegata' An extremely good looking agave!
  • Albuca spiralis This is the 'mother plant' of my beautiful little ones.
  • Aloe bainesii These beauties make you think you are in South Africa.

  • Aloe pillansii Taken on a very overcast day!
  • Aloe variegata An unually large clone of an attractive plant.
  • Ariocarpus kotschoubeyanus v. elephantidens Wow!!!
  • Avonia alstonii I don't know of anyone that doesn't like this plant.
  • Avonia alstonii Larger ones.
  • Avonia alstonii A large one!!! Almost 6" in diameter!
  • Dendrosicyos socotranum A large specimen of that cucurbit from Socotra
  • Echinocereus rubrospinus My favorite 'red' cactus!!!
  • Euphorbia ammak 'variegata' A large specimen growing outside!
  • Euphorbia francoisii Mouthwatering specimens!!! These are probably 10" pots!!!
  • Euphorbia francoisii More!

  • Euphorbia horrida [cv Snowflake] One of the nicest specimens of this clone that I have seen!
  • Euphorbia tirucalli 'sticks on fire' I am not particularly fond of this plant, however, in the morning light, this was pretty!
  • Ipomoea flanaganii This monster is in a 35 gallon container.
  • Pachypodium windsorii Words are not necessary.
